New York based Raw Design is headed by Roopakshi Mathur who specializes in residential and commercial interiors within all the boroughs of New York. Having lived in Singapore and Malaysia during her younger years, Roopakshi was exposed to art and architecture through many design lenses. Very early on, Roopakshi was inspired by carefully curated spaces and mesmerized by how nature can be so seamlessly intertwined into the design process. Following her dreams, she did work with WATG Singapore, Albert Angel Architects, Banyan Tree Singapore and engaged in space planning. She found her first home creating unique spaces at Clodagh Design in New York as an interior designer. Here she found her own stylistic flair whilst working on many large and small private family homes where the focus ranged from interior planning to custom furniture design. She worked closely with clients and their families to understand their vision and translate that into a timeless space. She then joined Jeffrey Beers International where she worked on many large hospitality projects across the world, including one in Brazil.

Now heading Raw Design into its tenth year, Roopakshi continues to design unique spaces through detailed programming, client collaboration, close coordination with specialized artisans and trade specialists who help to turn a vision into quintessentially tailored spaces. She uses her continued love of travel to influence her design sensibility. She applies inspirations from nature, textures, a calming color palette, and her worldly design knowledge to ensure a space is not only aesthetically pleasing but functionally sound to the needs of her client.
